I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all our customers and partners visiting our website.
Since its founding in 1957, Dongbang has been a cornerstone of national economic development for nearly 70 years. Through constant adaptation and tireless effort, we have established ourselves as a premier integrated logistics leader in Korea. Even during the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis (IMF), a time of unprecedented economic turbulence, Dongbang demonstrated pioneering spirit by establishing the first ship-block transport route between Korea and China using tugs and barges for delivery to major Korean shipyards. This initiative was instrumental in propelling the Korean shipbuilding industry to its current world-class status.
Our resilience was tested once again during the 2008 global financial crisis. Rising to the challenge, we were once again the pioneer in introducing the first self-propelled vessels. This allowed us to deliver massive desalination plants to arid regions in the Middle East, addressing critical water shortages, and to deliver and install container cranes in the remote jungles of Papua. By delivering bridge blocks to remote islands both domestically and internationally, we have consistently improved the quality of human life. Furthermore, by safely transporting core heavy-cargo equipment for Oil & Gas as well as offshore wind farm projects around the world, we have played a vital role in securing stable global energy supply chains.
A defining moment in our recent history was the TCO Project in Kazakhstan in 2018. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2023, we successfully executed the transport of key PAU modules. Amid the pandemic, rather than pursuing solitary growth, we chose to support the collective survival and growth of our industry peers by subcontracting substantial portions of the project volume. In the face of global business challenges, Dongbang has continuously identified and developed new services to navigate adversity with resilience, while placing the highest priority on contributing to the advancement of humanity and society through its business activities.
Our extensive logistics infrastructure, including nationwide port facilities, inland container depots (ICD), advanced logistics centers, and state-of-the-art container terminals, is the source of our strength. Leveraging these assets, we strive to exceed customer expectations by providing services proactively.
Guided by the philosophy of enhancing human welfare and passing down a better world to future generations, Dongbang is committed to ESG management.
